I really enjoyed this! I didn't grow up with religion / cults but you evoked a sense of horror that comes from childhood trauma that does get replicated even outside of those communities (which I am familiar with)

The aesthetics were really nice and the multimedia approach, including VO, was great!

This was beautiful. While I do not have a first-hand experience growing up in a religious institution, I think you did an amazing job of communicating what it must have felt like. It’s wild how children will take what was written in the bible as a factual truth and have the correct emotional reactions to what’s being described, while so many adults act nonchalant about the horrors they believe to be true heading their way.

Some of the surreal visuals were haunting as well, and did a great job of illustrating the mind of a child.

thank you!

this was great! the dreamlike quality was really nailed here, and i loved the usage of static (especially how the more colorful static was only used for all except aisha and her guardian angel). i really liked the usage of the empty paintings, too. the guardian angel having all lowercase text gives a sort of tiredness to their overall energy that i really appreciated.

The use of different mediums sparked a lot of feelings for me, something about untextured/choppy 3D spaces feels dreamlike, how the mother figure and pastor use "real" images, Aisha and her guardian angel being hand-drawn. Despite the exhausted expressions their both had, it felt safer that way.

The dev log got me emotional too. I was in both states while interacting with Visions, moments where the panic reminded me of my own and experiences that felt strange.

I wish I could say more, but I really enjoyed this.

thank you 🫂

The voiceover is an intimate touch to the narrative. It wasn't until I read your dev log that my suspicion around the guardian angel's identity was confirmed. Great game!

PS. God looking from that ceiling with those big eyes was creepy haha...

hehe thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
